I would like to start with the Root or Base Chakra (read here more about the whole idea) as I think it is most important to have a strong and open base.
The colour of the Root Chakra is red and that’s what I used in my painting.
The energy center at the base of our spine, connects to our sense of groundedness as well as instincts of survival. When off balance, it can make us feel low energy, alienated – from ourselves and others – and easily angered. When in balance, it makes us feel secure, stable, full of health, energy and vitality.
Here are some ways to heal your chakra:
The Root Chakra’s element is Earth, so simply going outdoors and experiencing the sounds and smells of nature will have a positive effect. Sit on the grass, under a tree and allow yourself to absorb these earthy energies!
Visualise a red stream of lava which is flowing from the middle of the earth in your Root Chakra, in your body and your aura.
Repeat as often as you wish with eyes closed the following positive affirmations:
I am safe. I am secure. I am grounded. I belong in this world. I have all that I need. I am where I need to be. I am at peace with my surroundings, with the people and events that occur. I trust more and fear less.
The Root Chakra is associated with our sense of smell. Aromatherapy is a great way to engage your sense od smell. Essential Oil of Vetiver, Patchouli, Cedarwood, Ginger, Rosewood, Cloves and Black Pepper.
Some foods that stimulate this Chakra: beets, carrots, radish, tomatoes, beans, strawberry, chilli, onion, potatoes, garlic, spinach, apples, pepper, cherries
And why not wearing a red top, doing some gardening, going for a run or dance? All this strengthen the Root Chakra.
