Writings in Hebrew

I have been asked by a friend if I could write something for her in Hebrew. It’s not the first time that someone asked me that and I am really happy to fulfil this wish. Even though I think my handwriting is awful. I might even be tempted to spend a few quiet minutes with calligraphy. Maybe it is just a question of practice, who knows.

When a colleague heard about it and asked me for a handwritten paper for her living room, she told me, that she doesn’t care what I will write. She just liked the idea of having a special and different picture on the wall. I even could write a lot of brand names one after the other, nobody will understand anyway, she said. Uhm, yes maybe, but I do care about it.

And so I wrote the Lord’s Prayer:

And the beginning of the Shema Yisrael Prayer:

Sh’ma Yisra’eil Adonai Eloheinu Adonai echad. Barukh sheim k’vod malkhuto l’olam va’ed.

Hear, Israel, the Lord is our God, the Lord is One. Blessed be the Name of His glorious kingdom for ever and ever.

And if you are wondering what is written on my bracelet, it means “everything is possible”. We only have to remember that from time to time.
